Dot the T to present “On a First Name Basis” as its sophomore production

Dot the T Productions is in rehearsal for their sophomore production — the hit comedy On a First Name Basis by Canada’s most performed playwright Norm Foster. A 10-stop tour throughout Muskoka /Parry Sound is in the works for May/June 2018.

Lake of Bays resident, Joan Bendon (director of Dot the T’s performance of Billy Bishop Goes to War), will once again be at the helm as her husband, William Colgate (Billy Bishop in Billy Bishop Goes To War), and Muskoka’s own Teal Cochrane take on the lead roles in this delightful two-hander.

On A First Name Basis tells the story of a successful but cantankerous novelist, David Kilbride, who one day realizes that he knows absolutely nothing about his long-time housekeeper of 28 years, Lucy Hopperstaad. She, on the other hand, knows absolutely everything about him! When David decides to make it his mission to learn all he can about Lucy, things get very interesting, very quickly. With revelations that are surprising, funny, and moving, On A First Name Basis is a love story, a social commentary and a mystery wrapped in vivid imagery and witty dialogue.

“Most performances of On a First Name Basis will be presented in a dinner/theatre format,” says Jan Jacklin, producer of both Dot The T Productions. “This setting proved to be very popular with our audiences for Billy Bishop Goes To War so if it ain’t broke….”

On A First Name Basis will be performed in at least 10 venues from Parry Sound to Dwight to South River and Bracebridge during May and June 2018. Group rates, senior discounts and general audience ticket sales will be available as soon as all venues have been secured.

Dot the T’s inaugural production, Billy Bishop Goes to War, proved to be a resounding success. Continued interest in Billy Bishop Goes To War has sparked demand for a second tour in the spring/summer of 2018. This tour will reunite original cast members William Colgate and Cameron Gibson. No dates or venues have been confirmed at the time of this release, but Dot the T’s website will be updated as further information becomes available.
