Debit is down due to Rogers network outage

Problems with the Rogers network are causing massive issues. Debit is currently unavailable online and at checkouts. Interac e-Transfer is also said to be widely unavailable, impacting the ability to send and receive payments.

“We haven’t had debit all day,” said a downtown Huntsville merchant. Circle K on Hanes Road and Tim Hortons on Hwy. 60 are also only accepting cash or credit as well as all three grocery stores in Huntsville.

Network disruptions have also closed programming at the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. Immunization and oral clinics are closed, states its website.

Disruption to the network has also impacted the District of Muskoka transfer stations, which are currently only able to accept cash payments.

The outage, which began early this morning, Friday, July 8, has impacted wireless, cable, and internet customers across the country.
