Community rallies around injured Muskoka man

From GoFundMe.com:

“Hello my name Rob Saunders and I am fundraising on behalf of Luke Allison my long time Brandy Crest Road neighbour in Muskoka.

While working on his roof Friday, March 28th Luke fell fracturing his pelvis into pieces, as well as fracturing his C2, C7 & T4 spinal cord segments. It is a miracle that he survived the fall and is not suffering any paralysis.

Proving to be a fighter (Check out that smile – Elbows Up!) he managed to pull himself to his truck and call 911. It was raining, cold and took him 3 hours! He was then airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Once at Sunnybrook he underwent a 9-hour surgery and a 12-hour recovery in intensive care.

Luke is still at Sunnybrook receiving the best of care, as reported by his mom, Debbie. The next step will be a rehabilitation centre in the GTA and then when he is strong enough, he will return to Muskoka.

At this point, recovery time is an unknown, but I am confident Luke’s return will not come as quickly as he would like,” reads the GoFundMe fundraising appeal launched by Rob Saunders.

The goal is to raise $15,000 and over $12,000 has already been raised.
