Collision leads to impaired driving charges for Huntsville resident



On Saturday March 16, 2019 just before 7:00pm a silver pickup truck was headed westbound on Main St W in the town of Huntsville ON. and crossed the centre of the road, driving into the back of another pickup truck. It appeared that the driver fell asleep.

Investigation found that the driver of the silver pickup truck was impaired by drug. As a result Andrea HYLAND 41 years-old of Huntsville On was arrested and eventually charged with Impaired driving by drug under the Criminal Code of Canada and Possession of Schedule I drug under the Controlled Drug and Substances act.  She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville on April 17, 2019 to answer to her charges.

Huntsville OPP would like to remind the public that driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol is never ok, it may cost you your life or the life of someone else. If you see what you believe to be an impaired driver, call 911. Impaired driving is one of the leading causes of criminal death in Canada.
