The snow outside is a bit of a tease for winter sports enthusiasts – enough to get you excited about the coming season, but not enough to do much yet. But at the end of the month you can get your fix, vicariously at least, when the latest Warren Miller Miller film, Here, There & Everywhere, plays at the Algonquin Theatre courtesy of Algonquin Outfitters.
Warren Miller captured his first ski images 67 years ago. In this film, Miller himself narrates to “spin tales of winters past as only Warren can do, and travel across the globe to locations like Greenland, the Swiss Alps, Kicking Horse, B.C. and more,” featuring some of the world’s best winter sport athletes. Not just limited to skiing and snowboarding, this film includes fatbiking, dogsledding and more.
Algonquin Outfitters will also be accepting gently used, clean and wearable winter coats at the show for their annual winter coat drive. They have already made two donations of jackets this month to The Table, with the remainder to be dropped off at the end of the month. (Read more about the coat drive here. If you want to take advantage of the gift card offer, you’ll need to donate your jacket in-store, though.)
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30. Expect high-adrenaline films and AO’s usual line-up of great door prizes. Tickets are $16 plus tax for adults and $12.50 plus tax for youth, available at the Algonquin Theatre box office or online here.
