If you like free things (and who doesn’t?), you’ll like the Downtown Huntsville BIA’s latest campaign.
On Monday morning, May 31, you can register to receive $30 in vouchers that can be spent at participating downtown merchants, for free.
“It’s been a hard year and this is how you can support our community. It’s so easy to sign up and you literally are getting free money,” said BIA manager, Morgan Richter. “Not only are you supporting our local businesses but you deserve this gift to yourself after everything that’s happened in the last couple years.”
The vouchers will be allotted first come first serve. Seven hundred voucher packages will be sent out, totalling $21,000. The BIA will also be handing out additional $10 Diggin’ Downtown vouchers randomly throughout the season. They can also be purchased as a way to support downtown businesses during these challenging times. Email Morgan Richter at [email protected] for more information.
“We are lucky to have a BIA that is actively trying to infuse money into the Main Street businesses during this construction phase. Let’s face it, the Huntsville charm is temporarily on hold, like so many other things, so encouraging locals and guests to shop here is a great initiative,” said Cara Henry, owner of The Record Shoppe.
“We’re excited to see the voucher campaign as the town’s initiative to boost exposure and traffic to all businesses affected by the construction. Moreover, as a new business in the wake of COVID-19, we’re truly grateful to participate in, and alongside, all neighbouring businesses as an effort to best garner support,” said Jess Harris, owner of Allora.
There’s a limit of one voucher package per household, and registration requires only completion of a short submission form. The BIA will mail your voucher package, consisting of three $10 vouchers along with a document detailing where and how to spend your vouchers. You must spend at least $10 at a participating business to use the voucher, and you can use them all at once or spread the love and visit three merchants.
You must have a valid Ontario address to register. The vouchers will expire on November 29, 2021.
“With Diggin’ Downtown and COVID there’s no better time than now to inject free money into our community,” said Richter. “This will give our businesses a much needed boost before hopefully a super busy summer.”
A list of participating downtown businesses is posted on the BIA website. Others interested in participating can still contact Richter to join.
