Beloved hockey coach dies in ATV accident

Members of the Huntsville Girls Hockey Association (HGHA) are mourning.

On Monday June 27, 2022 Ryan Solman, 40, a coach and hockey dad to three kids was involved in a fatal ATV accident in North Frontenac at approximately 2:30 p.m.

In his memory, and in support of the family, all players are being asked to put their sticks out on their front porch for a week.“Ryan you will be missed and always in our hearts,” states the HGHA Facebook site.

“Ryan was very generous of his time to support youth sports. He was well-liked and had a very positive impact on many kids and families in Huntsville,” stated Kerri Vallentin,  HGHA executive.

Funeral Arrangements have begun, and the funeral will be held at the Faith Baptist Church on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Visitation will take place from 12-2 p.m. and the funeral will begin at 2 p.m. sharp. Interment will proceed at the Baysville Cemetery, followed by refreshments at the Lake of Bays Community Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Foundation of Muskoka.
