Artists: HFA is accepting proposals for Nuit Blanche North summer street festival

The über-popular summer street festival Nuit Blanche North returns for its eighth year on July 27, 2019. Mark your calendars! And if you’re an artist, Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HFA) is now accepting proposals for this year’s event.

For one night only, the streets of downtown Huntsville come alive with an exciting (and free!) program of contemporary artistic activities, events and exhibits taking place in unconventional places. Close to 7,000 visitors flooded the streets in 2018, and HFA expects that number to grow again this year.

The theme for this year’s festival is All Together Now. HFA is seeking unique and engaging installations, interactive art, film, sculpture, street theatre, music, or anything else that explores ideas revolving around the collective, what connects/divides, as well as the opportunities and challenges collectivity provokes.

HFA seeks projects that encourage audiences to explore, discover, debate, and participate in contemporary art and the public spaces that surround them. This is your chance to think outside the box, and let your imagination run wild. Any venue in the downtown core is possible, and HFA encourages local businesses, cultural and religious institutions to join in by opening their doors and offering free access to contemporary art. Artists will be paid fees for their participation.

Submission Deadline: March 8, 2019
