Muskoka Bible Centre is pleased to present a free concert with Steinway Artist Andrew Lapp, a Christian and Classical Concert pianist. The concert is on July 20, at 7pm.
Andrew Lapp, born in 1989, is an American concert pianist and composer. He began his first piano lesson at the age of seven, he later studied privately with Sandra Lawler.
Andrew received a degree in Piano Performance under the direction of Young-Ah Tak, student of Leon Fleisher, as well as a Minor in Business and Minor in Music Technology from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Andrew has also taken master lessons with several noted teachers including Dr. Marc Silverman of the Manhattan School of Music, Rebecca Penneys of the Eastman School of Music, Dr. Kevin Orr of the University of Florida, and Dr. Sergio Ruiz of Sam Houston University.
Andrew has appeared as a solo pianist with the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, Venice Symphony Orchestra, and the Sarasota Pops Orchestra. Andrew performs concerts nationally, and in 2010 he debuted as an accompanist at Carnegie Hall.
Along with studying classical repertoire, Andrew also composes and performs arrangements of sacred, gospel, and popular selections. His sacred and gospel interpretations have been featured as pre-shows for The Gather Vocal Band; The Collingsworth Family; The Inspirations; Legacy 5; The Booth Brothers; and Guy Penrod, former lead vocalist for the Gaither Vocal Band. Andrew currently serves as Artist in Residence at First Sarasota, The Downtown Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida.
In 2010, Andrew was invited to join Steinway’s Young Artist Roster as the first American young artist. As of 2013, Andrew Lapp is a Steinway Artist.
