The 30th annual Great Pumpkin Trail: in photos

Hundreds of trick-or-treaters decked out in their Halloween finest descended on Muskoka Heritage Place last night for the 30th annual Great Pumpkin Trail.

There were the requisite princesses, zombies, superheroes and cartoon characters, and many families got into the act for some multi-generational fun.

Mayor Scott Aitchison was there, too, judging the houses to determine who would get best-decorated honours. Scroll down to see who the winner was!

If you were there, tell us which one was your favourite in the comments.

And the winner is…

After inspecting each decorated house, Mayor Scott Aitchison announced the winner: Huntsville Public Library. Library staff Cortney LeGros and Amber McNair transformed the Muskoka Heritage Place schoolhouse into a pirate ship for the evening, complete with a helm, captain’s quarters, a treasure chest, cargo, cannon balls, and the bones of unfortunate pirates who perhaps enjoyed a little too much grog.
