Huntsville is a giving community and the response to last week’s tragic accident that killed Seungah Kim has shown our town’s generosity once again.
As of today, $25,680 had been donated to a GoFundMe page created to help Kim’s husband and daughter. A TD Canada Trust account has also been set up to accept donations at any branch (account number 6343528 2664). Via BIllingsley Funeral Home, Kim’s family has asked that memorial gifts be directed to the Muskoka Family Focus Early Years Program.

Friends of Kim and her family created a flower memorial at the north-west corner of Brunel Road and High Street near where she was struck by a vehicle the evening of Thursday, March 10. An OPP investigation into the accident continues and no charges have been laid.
The Huntsville community was quick to respond with words of condolence for Kim’s family, as well, including these:
“My heart aches for her young daughter and husband. Seungah, you will be greatly missed.” ~Dawn Maeck
“Seungah, I will miss your gentle spirit, loving ways and kind soul. Thinking of Gina and Mike and other family members and friends as they mourn your sudden death. So many babies and children and their mothers have felt your joy and love. Our community will now wrap your family in love. Holding your memory close today and always. Love Sandy.” ~Sandy Inkster
“Michael and Gina, This is so tragic. Seunagh has been such a wonderful and dedicated person to so many young moms and their babies. Her caring a beautiful spirit will be in our memories forever. My heartfelt sympathy to you.” ~Lynette Steep
Many also lamented the design of the intersection, calling it “dangerous” and “sketchy.”
A visitation will be held at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 169 West Road, on Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the church.
I am truly saddened especially for you and your daughter. And family near and far. May God rest their souls. May memories, time and love, heal your hearts. In my prayers. Xo
