Vehicle fire closes southbound lanes of Highway 11

Southbound lanes on Highway 11 were closed yesterday evening while fire crews extinguished a car engulfed in flames.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Friday, February 17. According to Huntsville OPP Staff Sergeant John Graham, it is suspected that the fire occurred as a result of an electrical malfunction. The highway was closed for approximately 35 minutes while emergency crews cleared the scene.

There were no reported injuries.
