YWCA Muskoka announces 2018 Women of Distinction nominees

This week, YWCA Muskoka announced the 19 outstanding nominees for the 17th annual Women of Distinction Awards—a signature event held by 13 YWCAs across Canada and prestigious recognition given annually by the YWCA Muskoka, a charitable organization that champions positive change for women and girls across Muskoka.

Nominees, nominators, sponsors, staff and volunteers gathered at a reception held at the Trillium Court in Gravenhurst on October 2 where they were introduced to the full slate of nominees for this year’s Gala.

“These women are people who make great things happen in their communities,” said Hannah Lin, Executive Director of YWCA Muskoka. “They have been nominated by their neighbours, co-workers and families who want to honour them for their courage, perseverance and for inspiring others.”

The 2018 Nominees​ are:

  • Kennedy Watson-Brown, Port Sydney
  • Ashleigh Whipp, Bracebridge

The awards will be presented on October 24 at the 17th Annual Women of Distinction Gala at Mark O’Meara, Grandview in Huntsville.     Congratulations Nancy Osborne. You are awesome. I took one of your classes with my sister and it was great. What great tools you taught us about keeping ourselves safe and aware. I recommend this class to everyone. It could just save your life. Way to go Nancy.
