With Main Street construction underway, the BIA has created a fun new initiative to support restaurants downtown.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

Each eatery participating in Taste of Huntsville, which will run from April 30 to May 31, 2021, will feature either a prix fixe menu or special food experience to showcase what they have to offer, and which you can pick up to enjoy at home.<\/p>\n

The restaurants will include:<\/p>\n

-Allora
\n-Beavertails
\n-Main St. Local Kitchen
\n-Marigold Unique Flavour
\n-Mottbora
\n-On The Docks Pub
\n-That Little Place By The Lights
\n-The Mill on Main
\n-The Nutty Chocolatier<\/p>\n

Every time you order one of the restaurants’ Taste of Huntsville offerings, you’ll receive a ballot for the chance to win spending money for downtown merchants.<\/p>\n

The Downtown Huntsville BIA will be giving away $1,000 in “Diggin’ Downtown Vouchers”, which can be used at all downtown shops and restaurants.<\/p>\n

The more often you support the restaurants, the more chances you have to win.<\/p>\n

“This campaign was inspired by our annual Beer Fest as it tends to be the kick-off to summer which gives our downtown restaurants the chance to showcase their talents,” said Morgan Richter, BIA msnager. “Because of COVID and the construction we aren\u2019t able to hold Beer Fest so wanted to promote our delicious downtown culinary offerings in another way. Not only are we encouraging supporting the restaurants but this way we are able to also support the merchants through the Diggin’ Downtown Vouchers.”<\/p>\n

The restaurants’ promotional offerings will be added to the BIA website within the next week. Starting April 30, you can check in there and contact each restaurant to place your order.<\/p>\n

Some restaurants will provide three-course options, while others are choosing to showcase individual dishes like Chicken Tikka or Chana Marsala Naan Tacos from Marigold Unique Flavour, and handmade Belgian Truffles from Nutty Chocolatier.<\/p>\n

“The restaurants are really looking forward to this campaign and the feedback has been super positive so far,” said Richter. “It\u2019s an awesome way for the community to try new dishes while also supporting our downtown restaurants.”<\/p>\n

Although downtown construction prompted the inaugural Taste of Huntsville, Richter said it will continue in years to come, even after the construction ends.<\/p>\n

“This initiative is also easy to pivot should the lockdown continue and curbside is the only option,” she said. “However if it is lifted some restaurants will choose to switch over to in-person dining.”<\/p>\n

Participating restaurants will display posters to show they are involved in Taste of Huntsville.<\/p>\n
