Your decision always depends on the strength and distribution of your hand. After Jacoby 2NT, your partnership must not stop bidding short of game.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Case 1:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Spades         AKQJx<br \/>\nHearts          Q<br \/>\nDiamonds     Axxx<br \/>\nClubs            Kxx<\/p>\n<p>Case 1: With 20 points including one length point in this unbalanced hand, you open One Spade. After partner bids the convention Jacoby 2NT, you bid Three Diamonds showing the Ace or void in Diamonds. If partner bids Three Hearts showing the Ace or void in Hearts, you now show your great hand. You bid Three Spades to suggest partner consider slam. You bid Four Spades to suggest game only. Partner makes the final decision.<\/p>\n<p><u>Case 2: <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Spades         x<br \/>\nHearts          Axx<br \/>\nDiamonds     AQxxx<br \/>\nClubs            AKxx<\/p>\n<p>Case 2: This is a trick question! You open One Diamond with your 18 points including one length point. Partner responds 2NT. You bid 3NT. This is a trick question because the 2NT is a limit raise (10-12 points) after a minor suit opening. The convention Jacoby 2NT partner response applies only to your opening of One Heart or One Spade.<\/p>\n<p><u>Case 3: <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Spades         Void<br \/>\nHearts          AQxxx<br \/>\nDiamonds     Kxx<br \/>\nClubs            AQxxx<\/p>\n<p>Case 3: With 17 points including two length points, you open this hand One Heart. Partner responds Jacoby 2NT. You then bid Three Spades (up the line) to show your void in Spades. If partner encourages, you next show your Ace of Clubs by bidding Five Clubs.
