{"id":95235,"date":"2021-03-05T13:12:46","date_gmt":"2021-03-05T18:12:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=95235"},"modified":"2021-03-05T13:28:32","modified_gmt":"2021-03-05T18:28:32","slug":"simcoe-muskoka-moves-back-to-red-control-zone-on-mar-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/simcoe-muskoka-moves-back-to-red-control-zone-on-mar-8\/","title":{"rendered":"Simcoe Muskoka moves back to Red-Control zone on Mar. 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Ontario Government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, is transitioning Toronto, Peel and North Bay Parry Sound District public health regions out of the shutdown\u202fand into the revised and strengthened <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/page\/covid-19-response-framework-keeping-ontario-safe-and-open\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/page\/covid-19-response-framework-keeping-ontario-safe-and-open&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1615051742833000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGXATvqOLc0cJxCStI11eJpxRtV2g\"><em><u>COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open<\/u><\/em><\/a> (the &#8220;Framework&#8221;), with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/regulation\/r21011\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/regulation\/r21011&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1615051742833000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHnlbfWRUIU8guasMqjO2uhTVloaw\"><u>Stay-at-Home order<\/u><\/a> no longer in effect. In addition, seven other public health regions are being moved to new levels in the Framework. All decisions were made in consultation with the local medical officers of health and are based on the latest trends in public health indicators and local context and conditions.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Our government is taking a safe and cautious approach to returning to the Framework and due to our progress, all regions of the province will soon be out of the provincewide shutdown,&#8221; said Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. &#8220;Despite this positive step forward, a return to the Framework is not a return to normal. As we continue vaccinating more Ontarians, it remains critical for everyone to continue to follow public health measures and stay home as much as possible to protect themselves, their loved ones and their communities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Based on a general improvement in trends of key indicators, North Bay Parry Sound District will be returning to the Framework at the Red-Control level. Toronto Public Health and Peel Public Health are also making progress, but as their case rates still remain high, they will return to the Framework at the Grey-Lockdown level.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, based on the latest data, the following seven public health regions will also be moving to the following levels in the Framework:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Red-Control<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peterborough Public Health;<\/li>\n<li>Public Health Sudbury and Districts; and<\/li>\n<li>Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Orange-Restrict<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit; and<\/li>\n<li>Timiskaming Health Unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Yellow-Protect<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit; and<\/li>\n<li>Renfrew County and District Health Unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All changes will be effective Monday, March 8, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. Please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/covid-19.ontario.ca\/zones-and-restrictions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/covid-19.ontario.ca\/zones-and-restrictions&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1615051742833000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGgR6OxNLkzY4q5nFhX28Gwb9BlEQ\"><u>Ontario.ca\/covidresponse&lt;&gt;\/u<\/u><\/a><wbr \/> for the full list of public health region classifications.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/covid19-sciencetable.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Update-on-COVID-19-Projections_February-25-2021_English.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/covid19-sciencetable.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Update-on-COVID-19-Projections_February-25-2021_English.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1615051742833000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEg3dR6-rTW5bcqkCPQ7zTXxuBa2Q\"><u>latest modelling data<\/u><\/a>, the efforts of Ontarians in following public health measures and advice are working to decrease the number of new cases, deaths and hospitalizations across the province.
