Today, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) reported one new COVID-19 case in Huntsville, a man, aged 18-34, whose case is under investigation.<\/p>\n

Note that as of Jan. 12, 2021, cases are listed by the date reported to public health, not the date publicly reported by the health unit. This case was reported to public health on Jan. 13.<\/p>\n

Case counts may also fluctuate from day to day if cases leave the area for hospital treatment or to recover elsewhere, or if through further investigation the health unit determines they should have been assigned to another health unit.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

Of the 53 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Huntsville to date, 11 are active. None are in hospital in Huntsville. Two people have died from the disease in Huntsville, as well as a third person in Muskoka Lakes. There have been 10 COVID-19 cases in Huntsville since Jan. 1 and more than half of Huntsville’s cases (30) have occurred since November 1, 2020. In Lake of Bays, there have been six cases in total, all of which have resolved.<\/p>\n

There have been a total of 174 cases reported in Muskoka to date (35 of them currently active) and 4,417 in Simcoe County (1,175 active). (For a full list of Huntsville and Lake of Bays cases to date, and other COVID-19 updates for the area, visit our COVID-19 page<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

The province’s stay-at-home orders came into effect on Jan. 14<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n
