{"id":93181,"date":"2020-12-30T11:32:45","date_gmt":"2020-12-30T16:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=93181"},"modified":"2020-12-30T11:58:48","modified_gmt":"2020-12-30T16:58:48","slug":"sexual-human-trafficking-charges-laid-against-huntsville-resident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/sexual-human-trafficking-charges-laid-against-huntsville-resident\/","title":{"rendered":"Sexual human-trafficking related charges laid against Huntsville resident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members from the new Provincial Human Trafficking Intelligence-led Joint Forces Investigations, with assistance from the Orillia Crime Unit and detachment members, arrested and charged a multi-jurisdictional offender.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2020, the investigation began with allegations made by a victim who did not get paid for their services. During the investigation, numerous multi-jurisdictional incidences dating back to 2010 were identified and additional victims came forward with similar complaints.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the investigation, 58-year-old Tony ORR, of Huntsville, has been charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sexual assault, Section 271 CCC (X3);<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with anyone for the purpose of obtaining sexual services, Section 286.1(1) CCC (X1); and,<\/li>\n<li>Fraud under $5,000.00, Section 380(1)(b) CCC (X2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 26, 2021. Previous charges are before the court.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Being a victim of any crime can be devastating. In these instances, the offender purposely chose highly vulnerable, marginalized individuals to victimize.
