Some clinics would spend more time with modalities, using ultrasound or heat or ice. We don\u2019t have any of that. Our space speaks to our philosophy as well. It\u2019s designed to have more room for movement and equipment for movement-based therapy rather than modalities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-92882\" src=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2020\/12\/Reactivate-Bryan-Lynd-3-supplied.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"562\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lynd\u2019s focus is on functional movement. He has multiple certifications in pain-free movement to help educate patients so they can feel better long-term. One of those certifications includes MovNat, which focuses on natural movements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was looking for another system to help teach movement because what you learn in physiotherapy school isn\u2019t always movement based. A lot of it can be modality based,&#8221; says Lynd. &#8220;You learn a lot more out of school and can start to specialize in what you love.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another of his specialty certifications comes from the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) with a focus on helping golfers improve their mechanics for a better golf swing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would ask a golfer to do a movement that the swing requires and then we see how well they do that, whether I like it or don\u2019t, and how we can improve it,&#8221; says Lynd. &#8220;There\u2019s a handful of different movements we look at in the assessment and tailor the program to that golfer. It has nothing to do with working on their swing because I\u2019m not a golf coach. I can help their body move better and they can apply that to their swing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-92884\" src=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2020\/12\/Reactivate-Bryan-Lynd-5-supplied.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lynd is passionate about ensuring that patients understand their treatment and the reasoning behind it, along with giving them the education to be more involved with their treatment while at home.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We take the whole-body approach versus tunnel vision on one painful spot,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Every injury is different. There\u2019s no one size fits all for any injury. We offer individualized care with a variety of professionals to help.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-92881\" src=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2020\/12\/Reactivate-Bryan-Lynd-2-supplied.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lynd\u2019s wife, Sarah, is a yoga instructor who offers LYT Yoga classes at Reactivate. LYT Yoga was developed by a physiotherapist and helps bodies to be more efficient, more balanced, and stronger while also helping to prevent injury.<\/p>\n<p>The Lynds moved to Muskoka from New York due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I grew up in Brampton but cottaged in Muskoka and it was calling me to come back,&#8221; he said, joking that he ran from New York when the pandemic hit. &#8220;It\u2019s nice to return home.
