Each week the Rotary Club of Huntsville presents a Bingo Night on YourTV. The hour-long event is presented Tuesdays exclusively on YourTV\u2014found on Cogeco channels 10 and 700 (channel 13 and 700 in Parry Sound)\u2014starting at 7 p.m., and consists of five games.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

The bingo fundraiser has become even more important this year due to the cancellation of other Rotary fundraisers, such as Dockfest and Maple Fest, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Guaranteed prize money presented each evening is $1,500 with the opportunity for players to win the Super Jackpot prize of $4,000 or the Junior Jackpot prize of $1,000.<\/p>\n

Since the bingo\u2019s inception in 1999, well over one-and-a-half-million dollars in winnings have been distributed to players from the community. At the same time, the Rotary Club has been able to raise important dollars to assist in their community outreach initiatives. In 2019, players in Parry Sound were brought into the mix, with the co-operation of the Parry Sound Rotary Club, allowing players from both communities to share in the winnings.<\/p>\n

The TV Bingo is only available through the support of Rotary\u2019s community partners at YourTV. Throughout the past 20 years, Cogeco and its local YourTV staff have been providing manpower, air time, and technical expertise to keep the games available to happy local players. Local manager Scott Acton has been a key supporter of developing community partners and notes, “We are proud to play a small part in the incredible work of the Rotary Club of Huntsville. TV bingo is a fun way to connect and give back to the community.”<\/p>\n

Recently Acton, on behalf of YourTV, approached the Rotary Club about an initiative to coincide with the launch of their 2020\/21 season. They are offering a contest, with the winners being awarded a complimentary bingo package for the September 22 bingo as well as a logoed bingo dauber to allow first-timers to play like seasoned pros. The contest is on now and ends Wednesday, September 16. All it takes is interested potential players to visit the YourTV Muskoka Facebook page (yourtvmuskoka) and enter the draw. Winners will be notified and advised where to pick up their bingo ticket package and dauber.<\/p>\n

“This is a great way for us at YourTV to possibly introduce new players to the weekly bingo but also expose them to some of the other great local programming on YourTV produced right here in Muskoka,” says Acton.<\/p>\n

A reminder for those that play regularly, or for new players, that tickets are just $8 and can be purchased at the new Canadian Tire Gas Bar, two downtown Circle K stores, Brunel Mart, Westside Variety, West Road Convenience, Shoppers Drug Mart, and both Capstone Petro Canada locations.<\/p>\n

Enter the Your TV contest today, or buy tickets at one of the above outlets. Then tune in at 7 p.m. each Tuesday and possibly win up to $5,000 in cash prizes.<\/p>\n
