The Campus Trails Wellness Centre is ready and open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n

The wellness centre is part of Greystone\u2019s vision for the overall Campus Trails site, which will also house a condo building called The Tom, a wellness services building, and the future site of Fairvern Nursing Home.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

“This is the first building in our vision for a campus of care,” said Pat Dub\u00e9, owner of Greystone. “We think we\u2019re building a community here that has a common theme of wellness and health and it includes some outdoor space, walking trails with a proximity to the hospital. We are pleased with the progress so far and the reception in the community has been great.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The wellness centre is home to Campus Trail Pharmacy, a satellite pharmacy of the Muskoka Medical Centre Pharmacy opening on Sept. 9; the Lakeview Physician Group, a family practice of nine physicians; Let\u2019s get Physio, a new physiotherapy and massage clinic operated by Melanie Drozdowsky; and the family practices of Dr. Mar, Dr. Small, and Dr. Stephenson. <\/span><\/p>\n

“It\u2019s exciting to open a brand new store and we\u2019ll be able to provide some brand new services because of the layout and technology advances,” said pharmacist Bill Coon. “We\u2019ll have more extensive capabilities to provide injections, travel and routine vaccines, and compounding of pharmaceuticals. We have rapport with the medical community that\u2019s here so it\u2019s just a very good fit.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Mayor Karen Terziano, MP Scott Aitchison, and MPP Norm Miller were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 3, congratulating Greystone on their vision for a great space.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Greystone is a bit of a legend in our community,” said Aitchison. “When I was mayor I worked hard with Pat to make sure his vision for this property, which I think is a brilliant one, would come to fruition. The rebuilding of Earl\u2019s Road and the extension of the waterline through there helped make this possible and will help make the development of Huntsville to the north possible as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I\u2019m proud of the work Huntsville council and the municipal staff have done to help make this project a reality today and into the future. This is such great news for Huntsville and the entire region. The vision here was as much about growing Huntsville and making sure there was appropriate housing of all needs and ages, but it was also part of doing more to anchor the hospital.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Aitchison said having the private sector and medical community come together will benefit the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

“That kind of vision and partnership is the only way we can move forward and enhance and make sure future generations will have access to the exceptional medical care they\u2019ll need throughout their life at whatever stage they\u2019re at,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Construction on the condo building is continuing.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Five years ago, when there was talk of the hospital leaving Huntsville, it became important for [Pat Dub\u00e9] to <\/span>create an anchor to the hospital, to create services around the hospital, which would make it hard for <\/span>the hospital to leave,” Alex Dussault, financial controller with Greystone, previously told Doppler. “That initial idea was to find a home for Fairvern, which we\u2019ve been able to do through this project, then create a community around the hospital and Fairvern that made the hospital entrenched in the community.”<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2016, Greystone Construction donated five acres of land to the Town of Huntsville, which will be <\/span>transferred to Fairvern Nursing Home, as the current facility is aging and needs improvements to meet <\/span>provincial standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Campus Trails development is 32 acres of land nestled in the trees off Muskoka Rd. 3 North, near <\/span>Earl\u2019s Road.<\/span><\/p>\n
