With Ontario in Stage 2 of the provincial government\u2019s COVID-19 reopening plan, the Town of Huntsville has opened its doors to the public starting Monday, July 6.<\/p>\n

Many of the municipality’s services continued virtually while Town Hall was closed due to COVID-19, and will still be offered online\u2014including purchasing dog tags, paying parking tickets, licensing for short-term rentals, and obtaining building permits, tax certificates and compliance reports\u2014so that residents don’t need to visit Town Hall if not necessary.<\/p>\n

Marriage licences can be obtained by going to the third floor; appointments are necessary.<\/p>\n

“Town Hall along with other municipal facilities were closed to the public to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19,” said Mayor Karin Terziano. “With the phased re-opening of the province, Town Hall can also once again open to provide those in-person services. With that being said, I still encourage those requiring Town services to see if they can connect with staff through phone and email as much as possible. The contact us page on Huntsville.ca<\/a><\/span> will help you find which department you are looking for, or call the customer service team directly at 705-789-1751.”<\/p>\n

As part of the protocols for reopening, plexiglass has been installed at the counters on the second and third floors of Town Hall.<\/p>\n

Anyone entering the building will be required to wear a mask. As well, “there are many sanitization stations throughout the building. Anyone entering should remember to sanitize when they enter and leave. If there are too many people waiting, consider returning to the building at a less busy time or call us to see if we can provide the service you require remotely.”<\/p>\n

With physical distancing requirements, staff can only serve two customers at the counter at a time. Those waiting in line are asked to maintain physical distance protocols.<\/p>\n

Staff are also encouraging customers to use cashless payments to prevent close contact. Town Hall accepts Visa and Mastercard for non-tax payments; or debit, pre-authorized payment plans or online payments for your taxes.<\/p>\n
