{"id":84500,"date":"2020-04-20T11:15:52","date_gmt":"2020-04-20T15:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=84500"},"modified":"2023-03-06T09:45:26","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T14:45:26","slug":"summit-development-at-119-town-line-road-east-has-begun-site-preparation-for-multi-residential-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/summit-development-at-119-town-line-road-east-has-begun-site-preparation-for-multi-residential-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Summit Development at 119 Town Line Road East has begun site preparation for multi-residential development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You may have noticed that a significant number of trees have been cleared just east of Forbes Hill Drive near the Canada Summit Centre.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>That is the site of Summit Development located at 119 Town Line Road East. The 175 unit multi-residential development received approval via an OMB decision in early 1990s. There is also a consent application in the works to sever an additional area at 120 Town Line East of approximately 0.17ha with 23m of frontage and add it to 119 Town Line Road East, currently comprised of an area of approximately 6.7ha with 30m of frontage on Forbes Hill Drive.<\/p>\n<p>The website for the development is advertising &#8216;stacked townhomes&#8217; from the mid $300,000 range to upwards of $700,000 for &#8216;condo townhomes.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>According to Kirstin Maxwell, Town of Huntsville director of development services, the municipality has received a site plan application for the development, but it has not yet been considered by the planning committee. The committee was scheduled to meet on April 15, 2020 but the meeting was cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Because the Town of Huntsville does not have a site alteration or tree-cutting bylaw, site preparation work can be done while the developer awaits site plan approval.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_84509\" style=\"width: 760px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-84509\" class=\"wp-image-84509 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2020\/04\/Summit-development-B.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2020\/04\/Summit-development-B-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2020\/04\/Summit-development-B-630x472.jpg 630w, https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2020\/04\/Summit-development-B.jpg 750w\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"562\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-84509\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Clearing has already started for a multi-residential development awaiting site plan approval along Town Line Road.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>At its March 11 meeting, planning committee approved a recommendation to move forward with a Community Planning Permit system which would regulate developments as well as site alteration activity including tree removal.
