As the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps across the globe, they wanted to provide local women with some strength too.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"76372\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The BarBelles head coach Ashley Moore, and Tara Kruusi, personal trainer and nutrition coach who also runs the Baysville BarBelles, have not been able to physically work with their clients due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So the pair have launched a variety of at-home workout programs with instructional videos on their website to help people keep up with their fitness routines and goals.<\/p>\n<p>They wanted to also support the community, and began The BarBelles Women&#8217;s Aid Initiative to help women in need. For the month of April, they are donating all of the proceeds from their basic $20 at-home program as well as 10 per cent from purchased apparel to the Muskoka Women\u2019s Advocacy Group (MWAG).<\/p>\n<p>MWAG operates both of Muskoka&#8217;s women&#8217;s shelters and provides services to women and children who are victims of trauma and abuse.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During this difficult time, they need our help more than ever since staying home isn\u2019t safe for many women and kids,&#8221; said Moore.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We chose to support the Muskoka Women\u2019s Advocacy Group with this initiative because we\u2019re extremely passionate about building a community of strong women,&#8221; she added. &#8220;We know that during this time when most of us are safe at home, it isn\u2019t safe for some women and their children, and they may not have an outlet to turn to. The Muskoka Women\u2019s Advocacy Group provides that outlet and a safe place for women and their children who have been affected by trauma and abuse.
