Greystone Project Management is in the midst of bringing a new wellness-focused centre to Huntsville.<\/p>\n
The Campus Trails development consists of The Tom, a 30-unit residential condominium building; Campus Trails, a medical professional wellness centre; and a wellness services building that will be developed in phase two of the plan.<\/p>\n
At Greystone’s new design centre (8 Crescent Road), anyone curious about the new development can get a sneak peek. (If that’s you, be sure to attend the open house on March 14. See details below.)<\/p>\n
“This is our eighteenth condo building. We\u2019ve built in Bracebridge, Haliburton, Fenelon Falls, and Parry Sound but it\u2019s been awhile since we\u2019ve been in Huntsville,” said Alex Dussault, financial controller at Greystone Project Management. “We learn from every building we build and apply the knowledge to the next building to make it better and more comfortable for suite owners, and try to deliver what people are after. We don\u2019t just build the same building over and over. It\u2019s designed to match the environment it\u2019s being built in and we offer amenities to match the market needs and wants.”<\/p>\n
The Tom will have underground parking and an elevator. The suites are all one level and each has a balcony with glass railings.<\/p>\n
“The vision for the condo buildings, supported by the wellness centre we\u2019re currently building, is that each one will have access to a personal services room,” said Alex. “You could have a massage therapist come on site one day a week, for example. There\u2019s space right in your own building, they don\u2019t need to come into your home. Then another day it could be a physiotherapist. Those people are dedicated to the project and can come to you.”<\/p>\n
Nearby in the wellness centre, there will be two doctors’ clinics, a pharmacy group, and a physiotherapist.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s close to the hospital and about a kilometre from downtown Huntsville. Everything\u2019s right at your fingertips,” said Alex.<\/p>\n

The vision for the wellness-focused centre as a campus of care came from the owner of Greystone, Patrick Dub\u00e9 .<\/p>\n
“Five years ago, when there was talk of the hospital leaving Huntsville, it became important for him to create an anchor to the hospital, to create services around the hospital, which would make it hard for the hospital to leave,” said Alex. “That initial idea was to find a home for Fairvern Nursing Home, which we\u2019ve been able to do through this project, and then create a community around the hospital and Fairvern that made the hospital entrenched in the community.”<\/p>\n
In 2016, Greystone donated five acres of land to the Town of Huntsville, which will be transferred to Fairvern Nursing Home for its redevelopment, as the current facility is aging and needs improvements to meet provincial standards.<\/p>\n
The Campus Trails development is 32 acres of land nestled in the trees off Muskoka Rd. 3 North, near Earls Road.<\/p>\n
“We brought new services down the road for access to the hospital. There\u2019s a new water main in the road that provides access to the hospital to further support their services and allows the hospital to grow,” said Alex. “One of the needs of the hospital was increased water supply for their sprinkler system, so that\u2019s now there.”<\/p>\n
The wellness centre will have occupancy this summer and construction will start on the condominium building this month, with occupancy set for spring 2021.<\/p>\n
Greystone has created a new design centre, which is now open, across from its main office at 8 Crescent Road.<\/p>\n
“We have this great showroom where people can come and see what we do, they can touch and feel what a condo unit built by Greystone feels like,” said Alex. \u201cYou can drop in and ask questions. We\u2019re not a high-pressure sales team.”<\/p>\n
