Have you been looking for a new sport or social activity? The Town of Huntsville wants to share with you all the local programs and activities available to you at the 55+ Adults Healthy Active Living EXPO on Friday March 27, 2020.<\/p>\n

This free drop-in event takes place at the Huntsville Active Living Centre from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. where visitors can experience live demonstrations, wellness seminars, clinics, presentations, prizes, healthy snacks and over 40 health-conscious vendors. The event is geared towards those age 55 and over, with caregivers and family members encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n

The fun starts at 10 a.m. with opening remarks by Mayor Karin Terziano. The first 250 attendees will receive an exhibitor tote bag. Visitors can expect many more prizes offered throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Plan your visit around your schedule by dropping in anytime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Healthy snacks available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

Simone Babineau, manager of recreation & leisure services, emphasizes why this event is a must attend event for those age 55 and up:<\/p>\n

This community expo was created to help seniors keep active, healthy, safe, independent, and socially connected. It is a great way to educate the community on affordable activities and programs that are available for all ages, so you can continue to stay physically and mentally fit well into your 90s!<\/p>\n

Active aging brings many positive health benefits including improved immune function, mental health and cognitive function, as well as a decreased risk of falls and enhanced social connection.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The senior population is the fastest growing age group in Ontario, with over three million Ontarians anticipated to be over the age of 65 by 2023. So grab your mom, dad, grandma, grandpa or friend down the street for an educated visit on healthy, fit and social activities available in the community. Admission is free.<\/p>\n
