Cuebids<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you remember that a Cuebid is the bid of a suit in which you do not intend to play? It has a special meaning between you and your partner. The Cuebid is a way to make use of the opponent\u2019s suit for your benefit. At the same time you interfere with the opponent\u2019s bidding. Since the Cuebid has a special meaning, it must be explained to the opponents if they ask the meaning at their turn to bid.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

Today we are talking about the Cuebid Raise. Your partner opens any suit other than No-Trump, let\u2019s say One Heart. The opponents bid any suit over his One Heart, let\u2019s say Two Diamonds. You bid Three Diamonds, a Cuebid Raise. It tells partner that you have four-card support for his Hearts and 10-12 points in your hand. You have shown good support. Your Cuebid is asking partner if he has anything extra for a possible game bid. Partner will bid either Three Hearts or Four Hearts.<\/p>\n

The Cuebid is a way not only to show partner good support but also to make life more difficult for the opponents. They cannot now bid Three Diamonds. You are forcing them to guess to bid an unhealthy Four Diamonds if they want to compete without enough strength for a game!<\/p>\n
