Enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding from from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. most days. And remember to join staff for the annual family-friendly fireworks display. Festivities kick off at 5 p.m., with fireworks beginning at 6 p.m. Enjoy free hot chocolate, cookies and live music in the chalet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrowhead Provincial Park<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you\u2019re looking for some fun in a winter wonderland, head to Arrowhead Provincial Park for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating and tubing surrounded by natural beauty. The park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.<br \/>\nThe skating trail has become more and more popular every year: expect lineups and pack some patience. Saturdays tend to be the busiest days. In January and February the park hosts Fire and Ice nights with the skating trail lit by Tiki torches. (Note: skating trail hours differ from park hours. Check the Twitter link below for details.)<br \/>\nAll activities are weather dependent. To avoid disappointment, call 705-789-5105 or check Twitter <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/arropark\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@arropark<\/a><\/span> for updates before heading out.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/limberlostforest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve<\/strong><\/a><\/span><br \/>\nIf you\u2019re looking for budget-friendly activities over the holidays, look no further. Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve offers free access to snowshoeing and skiing trails daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Trail maps and guest parking passes can be found at the self-serve kiosk just past the gate.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/algonquinoutfitters.com\/equipment-rentals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Algonquin Outfitters<\/strong><\/a><\/span><br \/>\nWant to enjoy the great outdoors, but don&#8217;t have the gear? No problem. Stop in at Algonquin Outfitters in downtown Huntsville where they can assist you with rentals. The store rents cross-country skis, snowshoes (or for an alternative to snowshoes, check out the Altai backcountry skis), and fat bikes. If you&#8217;ve never tried fat biking, it&#8217;s a fun way to enjoy hiking trails in the winter. The extra-wide tires give you more traction to cut through the snow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Classic Cheese Fondue for Two, Deerhurst Resort<\/strong><br \/>\nDaily<br \/>\nLooking for an evening out without the kids?
