Generation Homes is an innovative project for HFHOGN, which will create four affordable and accessible rental units. The Good Food Co-op will be collecting donations from customers at the register throughout the month of December.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Affordable housing and food security are among the most pressing issues facing our communities today,&#8221; said Kimberley Woodcock, CEO of HFHOGN. &#8220;We\u2019re excited and very thankful to be partnered with another organization whose mission is so closely tied to our own. No family should have to make the impossible choice between shelter and a nutritious meal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Good Food Co-op is located at 1 Crescent Road in Huntsville, and offers customers regionally produced food, nutrition literacy, and healthy eating programs. Habitat for Humanity representatives visited the Co-op on #GivingTuesday to kick off the partnership, accept donations, and answer questions regarding the Generation Homes project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Access to good food and affordable shelter are fundamental human rights,&#8221; said Kelli Ebbs, general manager of Muskoka North Good Food Co-op. &#8220;We at the Co-op proudly stand with our community and other social enterprises to collaborate on initiatives that offer people a hand-up and a healthy perspective on life!
