In a notice yesterday, the District of Muskoka said that “work is advancing to ensure King William Street will be ready for pedestrians and parade floats” by this Friday, November 29, in time for the annual Santa Claus Parade.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the contractor, J.B. Enterprises will lay an asphalt base from the swing bridge to the instersection of Chaffey Street and Fairy Avenue, including the limits of John Street, Church Street and the entrances to Tim Horton\u2019s and Pizza Nova <\/span><\/p>\n

During paving, a single, east-bound lane of traffic will remain open, as it has for much of the recent construction work. King William Street, Chaffey Street and Fairy Avenue will be open in both directions.<\/p>\n

According to the notice, “Fencing will be installed along the length of the new curb on both sides of King William Street early in the day on Friday, this will allow the public to view the parade from the street-side of the fencing. The streetlights at Church Street and mid-block towards Fairy Avenue will also be reinstated for additional safety.”<\/span><\/p>\n
