The Town of Huntsville announced today that it has hired a new director of community services.<\/p>\n

The position was left vacant when the former director, Kari Lambe, resigned in the spring<\/a><\/span> to take a position elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Lorrie O\u2019Brien will take on the role beginning December 2. According to a media release from the Town of Huntsville, she “has extensive experience inspiring and leading multi-functional high-performance teams and has produced a strong foundation in municipal experience, most recently as the General Manager Operations Division with the City of Brandon in Manitoba.”<\/p>\n

O’Brien’s LinkedIn profile notes that she joined the City of Brandon in August 2018, and prior to that was the CAO of the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass from November 2016 to July 2017, general manager municipal services at the Town of Canmore from 2011 to 2016, community services director at the City of Brampton from 2008 to 2010, and manager parks, forestry and recreation with the City of Toronto from 1987 to 2008.<\/p>\n

She holds a B.A. in Recreation, Business Administration from the University of Waterloo.<\/p>\n

The Town’s CAO, Denise Corry, said in the release that “[w]e are very excited to have Lorrie join our team in the capacity of Director of Community Services. Lorrie brings a vast amount of experience and knowledge with her that will complement our amazing Community Services Team and our Corporation as a whole.”<\/p>\n
