Absent: Patti Hanrath (supplied)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fourteen local women have been nominated for a prestigious Women of Distinction Award \u2013 an award presented annually by YWCA Muskoka to women who go above and beyond for their community and inspire others to as well.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p> Nominees, nominators, sponsors, staff and volunteers gathered at a reception held at YWCA Muskoka in Bracebridge on October 8 where they were introduced to the full slate of nominees for this year\u2019s gala event. The Women of Distinction Awards Gala is a signature YWCA fundraising event that celebrates women\u2019s accomplishments and is recognized through YWCA chapters across the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Over 250 women in Muskoka have been nominated since the award\u2019s inception in 2003,&#8221; said Hannah Lin, Executive Director of YWCA Muskoka. &#8220;These women are catalysts for change and are breaking new ground and old barriers to improve the lives of others.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>2019 Nominees<\/u><\/strong><strong> <\/strong><em>(in alphabetical order<\/em>):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Kim Aitken, Huntsville<\/li>\n<li>Margaret Dollar, Utterson<\/li>\n<li>Ellen Duffield, Rosseau<\/li>\n<li>Patti Hanrath, Huntsville<\/li>\n<li>Erin Kerr, Bracebridge<\/li>\n<li>Diane Litchfield, Huntsville<\/li>\n<li>Marie Lloyd, Huntsville<\/li>\n<li>Karen Patterson, Huntsville<\/li>\n<li>J\u2019aime Payne, Huntsville<\/li>\n<li>Darlene Poirer, Utterson<\/li>\n<li>Cailan Punnewaert, Rosseau<\/li>\n<li>Kai Rannick, Kearney<\/li>\n<li>Kalleen Turchet, Bracebridge<\/li>\n<li>Sandra Winspear, Bracebridge<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The awards will be presented on Friday, October 25 at the 18<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Women of Distinction Gala at Mark O\u2019Meara, Grandview in Huntsville.
