Campbell attended school in Huntsville until grade 11 when he accepted an Athletic\/Academic scholarship to The Kiski School in Pittsburgh to play Varsity Hockey and Field Lacrosse.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"69896\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>Campbell\u2019s lacrosse career had him playing box lacrosse since Novice in the Huntsville Minor Lacrosse Association and field lacrosse since the age of 12. He excelled at both.<\/p>\n<p>He has just finished his fourth season with the Junior C Hawks. He has had the pleasure of being coached by Kevin Knox, Jordy Bionda, Jay Rudge and most recently, Caleb Mackay and Joey O\u2019Hallaran.<\/p>\n<p>Mackay spoke to Campbell\u2019s success in a recent Doppler article: &#8220;AJ Campbell led our team both in goals and points. He ended up tied for fourth in the league in total goals scored, sixth in total points and first in shorthanded goals. An absolute breakout year from a leader on our team who did not miss a single practice or game all season.\u201d Campbell was the Assistant Captain for the Hawks and was named the Most Offensive Player for the 2019 season and the Rookie of the Year in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>In hockey news, AJ Campbell has been named the Assistant Captain for the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners Junior A hockey club for the 2019\/20 season playing forward, left wing. Campbell played in the Huntsville Minor Hockey Association rep system until he moved into the Triple A league with the North Central Predators Midgets.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_72495\" style=\"width: 1082px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-72495\" class=\"size-full wp-image-72495\" src=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2019\/08\/Screenshot_20190803-152126_Word.jpg\" alt=\"AJ Campbell was named Assistant Captain for the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners Junior A Hockey Club for the 2019\/20 season (supplied)\" width=\"1072\" height=\"1078\" srcset=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2019\/08\/Screenshot_20190803-152126_Word-298x300.jpg 298w, https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2019\/08\/Screenshot_20190803-152126_Word-1018x1024.jpg 1018w, https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2019\/08\/Screenshot_20190803-152126_Word.jpg 1072w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1072px) 100vw, 1072px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-72495\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">AJ Campbell was named Assistant Captain for the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners Junior A Hockey Club for the 2019\/20 season (supplied)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>He played with the Huntsville Junior C Otters for only 11 games before he was acquired by the Timmins Rock Junior A team from the Northern Ontario Junior A Hockey League.<\/p>\n<p>Timmins was where one of Campbell\u2019s greatest moments took place. He scored a double overtime goal in the second round of Junior A playoffs to take a 3-1 series lead against the top team in the NOJHL in front of 1,600 fans.<\/p>\n<p>In between hockey and lacrosse, Campbell has been taking university courses online and has been accepted to both Queens University and Western University in the spring. Campbell wants to play hockey and lacrosse at the highest level possible while pursuing his post-secondary education. &#8220;I have decided to take another year to play hockey in order to keep all possible U Sports (CIS, Canadian Interuniversity Sport) and NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) options open for hockey and\/or lacrosse,&#8221; he says.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Don\u2019t miss out on Doppler!
