{"id":71081,"date":"2019-07-06T12:53:02","date_gmt":"2019-07-06T16:53:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=71081"},"modified":"2019-07-06T12:53:02","modified_gmt":"2019-07-06T16:53:02","slug":"athlete-of-the-week-aimee-sinclair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/athlete-of-the-week-aimee-sinclair\/","title":{"rendered":"Athlete of the Week: Aimee Sinclair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I love sharing my journey with people that I couldn\u2019t do one push up when I started and it\u2019s never too late to start at any age,&#8221; says Aimee Sinclair, a local personal trainer who has made it to the second round in the 2019 Ms. Health &amp; Fitness competition.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"69896\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>In her Ms. Health &amp; Fitness profile, she writes, &#8220;When I started, I started because I had a pulmonary embolism. I almost died. I was 28lbs heavier and couldn\u2019t do one push up. Since introducing fitness into my life it has completely transformed me. I am happier, lighter, I sleep better. I feel empowered, more confident and strong. I believe in me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sinclair says being a personal trainer gives her the &#8220;best feeling&#8221; because it allows her to be part of beautiful moments as she supports others to improve their own health.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I love hearing a client tell me they\u2019ve been cut back on medication or been able to stop taking it by their family doctor,&#8221; says Sinclair. &#8220;Hearing a grandmother tell me she can walk up a flight of stairs with her grandson and not run out of breath. Just last week I received a text saying &#8216;thank you Aimee\u2026I feel happy&#8217;. I feel blessed and so grateful.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sinclair has been a personal trainer for the past seven years. She continually increases her knowledge and expertise in her field so she is able to educate as many people as possible in health, exercise and nutrition, and says that there is no cookie-cutter approach to health. &#8220;It\u2019s finding what works for you,&#8221; she says. To help spread the message as well as highlight what health-related services are available in Huntsville, she has been conducting Instagram Live interviews and posting YouTube videos with local health and wellness professionals, including personal trainers, RMTs, and workplace wellness coaches.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For the last three years, Sinclair has also been a bikini competitor, working with her show coach, Ashley Bird. At UFE (Ultimate Fitness Event) competitions in London, Ontario, she placed third in 2016 and second in 2017. &#8220;I\u2019m very excited to see what will happen in the next show I decide to do,&#8221; she says. The overall winner will receive $20,000 and be featured in <em>Muscle and Fitness Hers<\/em> magazine. &#8220;I was so flattered that she felt I was someone she could see being a part of this,&#8221; says Sinclair. &#8220;I am honoured that I am now competing and overjoyed and stand daily with a grateful heart for all the support within the community by so many I have received.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sinclair is a single mom and a small town woman who never thought seven years ago that she would be in such a great position. &#8220;I am overjoyed and so very grateful,&#8221; she says. &#8220;I couldn\u2019t have gotten where I am without the support of my two daughters, my partner, my family and friends and so many others that have supported me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To vote for Aimee Sinclair, visit <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mshealthandfitness.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mshealthandfitness.com<\/a><\/span>.
