The MBRP Major Midgets have won seven of their last nine games to improve to 16-9-4 as a team this season, and 5-3-3 in the Muskoka Parry Sound Hockey League standings, good enough for a first-place tie with the Parry Sound Shamrocks.<\/p>\n

The hot streak began with emotional victories in consecutive one-goal games on the road at the end of October. The Otters started off in the win column defeating the Highland Storm 5-4 on October 30th,<\/sup> followed by a close 2-1 win over the Parry Sound Shamrocks on Halloween night. Scott Perry was outstanding in net, making a trio of saves in the start of the third period to preserve the win for Huntsville.<\/p>\n

The Otters then took a break from their regular season schedule to travel to Strathroy, Ontario for a weekend tournament. They won their first game 2-0 against the home team, before coming up just short in a defensive battle against Kincardine in a 2-1 loss. The Otters would rally to shut out Petrolia by a score of 1-0, only to be shut out themselves 6-0 by the Halton Thunder in their final game of round robin play.<\/p>\n

That would set up a rematch against the Thunder for the bronze medal. The Otters scored first only to see Halton tie things up immediately afterwards, as both teams wanted to end the day with a win. The game featured end-to-end action and was by far the best of the tournament, with the score remaining tied at the end of regulation, as the Otters finally found the winning goal in overtime to claim the bronze.<\/p>\n

On Friday, November 13th<\/sup> it was back to Muskoka Parry Sound League play, as the Majors travelled to Haliburton to defeat the Highland Storm by a score of 7-2. Three defenseman scored goals in the game, including two from Adam Long. The Otters kept the momentum going on Sunday against the South Muskoka Bears, this time with Cody Parent netting a pair en route to a 4-1 win and pushing the Otters win streak to three games.<\/p>\n

The Major Midgets kick off a home-and-home in Penetang next Friday night before welcoming the Flames to the Don Lough Arena on Sunday at 5:10pm.<\/p>\n
