Through an innovative fundraiser, the business managed to raise $1,500 for Hospice Huntsville thanks to its staff who dared to dye their hair purple.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>Clients of Proactive as well as community members were asked to place donations on a staff member&#8217;s name, and the two who raised the most donations would have to dye their hair purple in time for the Hike for Hospice event held on Sunday, May 5, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe make it an annual fundraiser to engage our clients and my team. We collect as a group and it\u2019s always a fun thing to do,\u201d noted Proactive Rehab owner Leslie Tempest.<\/p>\n<p>The Hike for Hospice is a Canada-wide event hosted by hospice and palliative care organizations throughout the country. The event happens each year on the first Sunday of May in honour of National Palliative Care Week.<\/p>\n<p>The two staff members that raised the most money were Sarah Tyler, registered massage therapist, and Tempest who is not only the business owner but a physiotherapist as well.<\/p>\n<p>The ladies had their hair died two days before the event at their place of business by staff member Sarah Tyler and Ian Dique, the individual who donated the largest amount of money.<\/p>\n<p>In previous years Proactive has done other fun and crazy fundraisers such as getting pied or egged in the face or even having to jump in the river, all for a good cause.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHospice is a quality charity who provide much needed and excellent care for people at the end of their life.
