Visit <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mps.cmha.ca\/news\/mental-health-week-may-6th-may-12th\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mps.cmha.ca<\/a><\/span> for more details. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>This year, from May 6-12, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is asking all Canadians to \u201cGet Loud\u201d on social media and in their communities, workplaces and schools about what mental health really is, to clear up the difference between \u201cmental health\u201d and \u201cmental illness\u201d and suggest what good mental health looks like.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>\u201cSo, what is mental health? Simply put, it is a state of well-being, and we all have it. We might have a mental illness, and we might not. Either way, we can all feel well. We can all feel good about ourselves, whatever life\u2019s ups and downs,\u201d says Executive Director Diane Brown-Demarco, CMHA Muskoka-Parry Sound Branch.<\/p>\n<p>One in five Canadians experiences a mental health illness or problem every year, but all five in five of us have mental health, just like we all have physical health. When you look at all the official definitions out there across Canada and around the world, you find that there are six common features of good mental health: a sense of self, a sense of purpose, of belonging, contribution, enjoyment and resilience.<\/p>\n<p>For this year\u2019s Mental Health Week campaign, hosted at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mentalhealthweek.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.mentalhealthweek.ca<\/a><\/span>, the CMHA created illustrations that reflect the real faces of Canada and describe the six features of good mental health in everyday language:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>I don\u2019t worry too much about what people think of me.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><em>I feel like I\u2019m reaching my potential.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>I feel like I belong.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><em>I make the world a better place.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>I enjoy my life.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><em>Knock me down and I\u2019ll get back up again.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan you see yourself in these words?
