Muskoka Watershed Council (MWC) will be shining a light on the complexities and components of Muskoka\u2019s watersheds at the 2019 Muskoka Stewardship Conference, taking place on Friday, April 26 at the Active Living Centre in Huntsville. Join the MWC to learn more about \u201cYour Watershed: Connecting The Drops!\u201d<\/p>\n

At this upcoming conference, you\u2019ll see that a watershed is more than just water; it is a living system that provides you with numerous ecological and socio-economic benefits that should be protected now and in the future.<\/p>\n

As Kevin Trimble, MWC Chair, explains, the Stewardship Conference will help the Muskoka community answer some important questions. \u201cWhat do we need and value in our watershed? What vulnerabilities and stressors could impact our watershed and what are we going to do about them? How can we manage our watershed more proactively and comprehensively for a sustainable economy rather than reacting to individual impacts?\u201d<\/p>\n

Drawing on expertise from Muskoka and across the province, the Muskoka Stewardship Conference is a one-day forum that brings together municipal councillors, academics, students, government scientists and, most importantly, community members to share knowledge and directly address community interests related to watershed health issues.<\/p>\n

The day promises to be an engaging and informative look at our watersheds and how to best manage them.<\/p>\n
