Wedding and event planner, Lucy Myers, who has made a name for herself as a young entrepreneur in Muskoka, is adding yet another creative endeavour to her repertoire\u2014a pop-up boutique.<\/p>\n

Myers grew up in Huntsville and spent winters travelling through Bali with her parents\u2014they ran a retail store, Mazooma, for more than 15 years and took their daughters on buying trips to Southeast Asia. Those trips sparked Myers’ love for travel.<\/p>\n

After high school, she attended George Brown College for fashion business and special event planning. She remained in Toronto to work in the industry, gaining experience in concerts, trade show booth design, fundraising events, and fashion show coordination.<\/p>\n

“I take after my parents of being an entrepreneurial spirit,” said Myers. “When I was little and thought of my dream career, everything I had in my mind was to do with planning events.” Her childhood notebooks were filled with clips from magazines of menus, weddings, and event planning.<\/p>\n

Myers said she always knew that eventually she would bring Lucy Myers Events home to Muskoka.<\/p>\n

I love that there\u2019s a new wave of young entrepreneurs in Huntsville. We as a community need to foster them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

After two years of successfully running Lucy Myers Events, Myers decided to expand her skill set into decor rental and Rented Gatherings was born.<\/p>\n

Lucy Myers launched Rented Gatherings to complement her successful wedding and special events business<\/p><\/div>\n

Rented Gatherings offers curated displays for weddings and special events such as baby showers, significant birthdays, client appreciation events, and charity events. Items are artfully gathered in a tableau that includes furniture like couches, tables, arbours, chairs, and shelving, along with accessories and decor like frames, vases, candles, pillows, blankets, and signs. A furniture and decor package includes design and set-up.<\/p>\n

“I want to create stylish gatherings so that everyone can have their dream Pinterest or magazine wedding day,” said Myers. “My goal is to make these rentals attainable for people in Muskoka while also supporting other local businesses and vendors such as florists and caterers.”<\/p>\n\n\t\t
