{"id":62683,"date":"2019-02-27T11:47:16","date_gmt":"2019-02-27T16:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=62683"},"modified":"2019-02-28T13:37:07","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T18:37:07","slug":"tour-boat-sinks-off-docks-by-canada-summit-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/tour-boat-sinks-off-docks-by-canada-summit-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Tom Thomson tour boat sinks off docks by Canada Summit Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Wyllie, owner of Algonquin Cruises got a shock this morning when he received a call from John Pantaleo to tell him his boat, the Tom Thomson, had sunk.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>Pantaleo manages private docking facilities adjacent to the Canada Summit Centre. He wondered whether significant snow load might have caused the boat to sink.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t seen anybody maintain it in the last three weeks,\u201d said Pantaleo, who noted that he informed the owner that the boat needs to be removed from the water and dealt with. He said the owner had no idea what had happened.<\/p>\n<p>Wyllie said he does not believe snow load was the issue. \u201cIt wouldn\u2019t have been snow load because we\u2019re licensed for 130 passengers. I don\u2019t know, maybe something froze inside\u2026 the water would have come in very slow. It gets dark early and it was floating yesterday and today it\u2019s not floating. If it was snow load, you would\u2019ve seen the boat start to flip over, over time,\u201d said Wyllie. \u201cWe check it you know, every week.
