\n<\/em>Terry Fox, July 10, 1980<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He was a young man with a dream but Terry Fox could never have predicted then just how far people would keep going in his honour. He had a goal to raise one dollar for every Canadian – $22 million then \u2013 and 38 years later the Terry Fox Foundation has raised well over $700 million to fund innovative cancer research.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

It wouldn\u2019t be as successful as it is without the efforts of local volunteer groups\u2014more than 9000 world-wide\u2014who host community and school Terry Fox Runs every year. The Huntsville run takes place on Sunday September 16, with all three run distances\u20141 km, 5km and 10km\u2014starting and ending at the Huntsville High School parking lot.<\/p>\n

Will you help keep Terry’s dream going this year? There\u2019s still time to sign up to run, walk, bike or blade any of the distances. The route is stroller and wheelchair accessible. Dogs are welcome.<\/p>\n

Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the run starts at 9 a.m. Questions? Email info@terryfoxrun.org<\/p>\n

The Huntsville Terry Fox committee is still looking for some help on Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Help is needed with water stations and crowd management along the route. Please contact Sharon Stahls if interested at sharonstahls@gmail.com.<\/p>\n
