The Stisted Fall Fair proves you’re never too old for some old-fashioned fun.<\/p>\n

The 133rd edition of the tiniest fair, which maintains a whole lot of country heart, was held at the Stisted fairgrounds on September 8. There was such a big crowd this year that people had to park on the road.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

The annual event continues to be the most unique in the area as there is no electricity or midway. Rides are replaced with timeless games, like the three-legged race, the shoe toss and tug-o-war competitions. Children who take part in the games are rewarded with money\u2014quarters and loonies\u2014and you can tell by the smiles on their faces that winning some coin is enough incentive to want to keep ‘playing.’ It’s all for fun and fun for all.<\/p>\n

It was breezy but beautiful and the Stisted Fall Fair always seems to happen under a blue sky. The historic Ashworth Hall saw a steady stream of people checking out the awesome exhibits and there was also a barbecue, corn on the cob, veggie bags and sweet treats. Squeals of glee filled the air. And it wasn’t just coming from the kids.<\/p>\n

Colour crazy! This year’s handiwork was colourful and eye-catching. There’s definitely some talent in that neck of the woods.<\/p><\/div>\n

Brian Smith cooked corn all day on an open fire. He cooks the corn in a bag, similar to a pillow case, which ensures every cob is equally delicious.<\/p><\/div>\n

For some, the fair is a time to catch up with old friends. This group of seniors were there to watch and shoot the breeze.<\/p><\/div>\n

Leona Jordan waited patiently for a turn to get her face painted. The list was long! Crystal Nunn of Crystallized Faces was a hit among the kids.<\/p><\/div>\n

The determination is real! Kids put all their muscle into winning the tug-o-war challenge.<\/p><\/div>\n

Two lovebirds leave the fair, hand in hand. A sure sign of a good time spent together.<\/p><\/div>\n
