{"id":48084,"date":"2018-05-04T14:40:58","date_gmt":"2018-05-04T18:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=48084"},"modified":"2018-05-04T14:40:58","modified_gmt":"2018-05-04T18:40:58","slug":"hhs-interact-club-raises-funds-for-local-food-banks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/hhs-interact-club-raises-funds-for-local-food-banks\/","title":{"rendered":"HHS Interact Club raises funds for local food banks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Main photo: HHS Interact Club members present a cheque to The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation (from left) Ella Cushman, Madeline Gosset, Heather Berg from The Table, Brianna Todd, Rachael Lemon, and Alora Hunnighan (supplied photo)<\/em><\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>From October through January, the Huntsville High School (HHS) Interact Club spent their Friday lunches raising money for two local food banks.<\/p>\n<p>The Interact Club is the youth version of the Rotary Club of Huntsville and comprises students from HHS that take on numerous not-for-profit initiatives throughout the school year.<\/p>\n<p>While the majority of the donations came from selling popcorn on Fridays during lunch hour, the club also collected money through other projects.<\/p>\n<p>When HHS held its annual Valentine\u2019s Day Dance, students could donate canned goods as an alternative to paying for their ticket.
