{"id":46104,"date":"2018-03-16T06:10:51","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T10:10:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=46104"},"modified":"2018-03-15T22:35:45","modified_gmt":"2018-03-16T02:35:45","slug":"omb-rules-in-favour-of-jarlette-health-services-on-height-of-muskoka-landing-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/omb-rules-in-favour-of-jarlette-health-services-on-height-of-muskoka-landing-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"OMB rules in favour of Jarlette Health Services on height of Muskoka Landing expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) decision regarding the expansion of Muskoka Landing is in.<\/p>\n<p>Jarlette Health Services has been granted the 15 metre height exemption it requested, after planning committee and council<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/surprise-ending-to-muskoka-landing-height-exemption-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> turned the height request down in March 2017<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The issue was heard by OMB Member Thomas Hodgins on November 27, 2017 and a decision was rendered on March 5, 2018.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>In his decision Hodgins ordered the Town of Huntsville to allow Muskoka Landing to construct a building expansion of up to 15 m in height (instead of the 12 m planning committee was willing to accept) as well as a proposed dock projection limit of eight metres for a dock in the Rogers Cove basin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn making its decision, the Board has had regard to matters of Provincial interest and notes that the buffers and setbacks are designed to protect the lake and fish habitat, the redevelopment involves an underutilized serviced property in an area intended for growth and that housing for seniors and jobs will be created in a well-designed project,\u201d stated Hodgins.<\/p>\n<p>You can find the full report <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.omb.gov.on.ca\/e-decisions\/pl170477-Mar-05-2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Don\u2019t miss out on Doppler!
