{"id":45366,"date":"2018-02-27T09:51:34","date_gmt":"2018-02-27T14:51:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=45366"},"modified":"2018-02-27T09:51:34","modified_gmt":"2018-02-27T14:51:34","slug":"sale-waterloo-building-off-table-march-28-deal-not-close","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/sale-waterloo-building-off-table-march-28-deal-not-close\/","title":{"rendered":"Sale of Waterloo building could be off the table by March 28, if deal does not close"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In somewhat of a limited report about negotiations for the sale of the Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment, Huntsville CAO Denise Corry told Huntsville Council that she proceeded with the direction that was given to her during closed session discussions at a special Council meeting on Feb. 8, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just advising Council that through discussions I\u2019ve been advised that they are not prepared at this time to provide a response as they have a little bit of work to do prior to responding to the questions I had for them,\u201d said Corry.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>What those questions were are unknown as Council discussed them in one of many closed sessions that have been held as part of negotiations with Denovo Trust Fund for the building. The trust fund is directly associated with the Denovo Treatment Centre out of Sundridge and their $3.9 million bid pushed out five other bidders during an RFP process held by the municipality last year.<\/p>\n<p>At the November 27, 2017 Council meeting, councillors emerged to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/council-chooses-3-9-million-bid-waterloo-building-lands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announce Denovo Trust Fund as the winning bidder<\/a><\/span>, but the deal has still not closed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did advise them that as noted in the RFP it clearly stated that an agreement had to be finalized within 120 days of the date that we confirmed that they were the successful proponents of the RFP\u2026 We did advise them on November 28 so 120 days from that date would be March 28<sup>th<\/sup>,\u201d said Corry.<\/p>\n<p>She said a response would be required with enough time to finalize documents and have them vetted by both sides; otherwise the deal is off the table.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by Councillor Brian Thompson what would happen \u201cif the deal goes south,\u201d Corry indicated that she would at that point bring a report back to Council with options.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Don\u2019t miss out on Doppler!
