It’s a dream come true.<\/p>\n

Stevie Jewel used to fantasize about playing with her band at the Algonquin Theatre.<\/p>\n

\u201cHuntsville has always been my home and playing at the theatre is something I hoped I could do and now the day is finally coming on December 8,\u201d says Jewel.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

Calling the upcoming concert \u201ca coming of age, full circle experience,\u201d Jewel can’t wait to rock the Algonquin Theatre. What’s unique about the concert is she is incorporating a charity aspect into it. Those who attend are being asked to bring in non-perishable food items or a new toy. Toiletries will also be accepted which will go toward foster children who are transistioning into new homes. The collected goods will go to Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s great to be able perform and give back through a performance. The donations will go toward people in need during the holiday season.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show will also feature Jewel’s long-time friend and fellow musician, Paul Lagendyk. The two teamed up last month for a charity concert for Simcoe Muskoka food banks, which was a great success.<\/p>\n

It was so much fun it seemed like a natural fit for [Paul Lagendyk] to be on the bill when I play at the theatre.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Right now, Jewel is in Nashville picking up her CDs for the December 8 show. She spends a lot of time there when she’s not performing at various venues around Ottawa and Toronto.<\/p>\n

But Huntsville definitely has a spot in this country crooner’s heart. It’s where she was born and raised and she even went to camp here back when she was a little girl. She will be giving it her all (as she always does) when she takes the stage next Friday.<\/p>\n

We’re very excited about the show. I know how special the theatre is.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She said people can expect to hear a mix of her original radio singles, classic country tunes with some new ones thrown into the mix. She will be playing a couple of songs that she just loves to perform from artists she truly admires but there will be an overall \u201csouthern rock country feel\u201d happening over the course of the night.<\/p>\n

Jewel has performed at the White House, the Canadian Country Music Awards, the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival and all over Canada and the United States. She is known for her powerful storytelling and amazing vocals and her unique artistic identity allows her to captivate her audience.<\/p>\n
