{"id":39975,"date":"2017-11-11T06:32:57","date_gmt":"2017-11-11T11:32:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=39975"},"modified":"2017-11-10T17:09:46","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T22:09:46","slug":"huntsville-hospital-foundation-will-relocating-closer-hospital-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/huntsville-hospital-foundation-will-relocating-closer-hospital-new-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Huntsville Hospital Foundation will be relocating closer to the hospital in the new year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Huntsville Hospital Foundation announced on November 10 its plans to move its office closer to the hospital, overlooking the Garden of Honour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to strengthen our relationship with patients and donors by relocating closer to the hospital with enhanced visibility of our office,\u201d says Katherine Craine, Huntsville Hospital Foundation Executive Director. \u201cThe Howland Building has served us well for nearly two decades, but we think this will be a great way to improve everyone\u2019s access to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Two aspects of the new location are unique: first, the physical space will be a small modular home \u2014 a bunkie-style building as befits our region \u2014 and, second, much of the cost of building, materials and relocating is being offset by generous gifts in-kind from local businesses.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Our focus this year and for many years to come is to build the capacity of this hospital for a changing world,&#8221; says Craine. &#8220;Part of that process is ensuring we&#8217;re closely connected to the hospital, our health care team and the patients we all serve. Our partners and donors stepped up wonderfully, and we can&#8217;t thank them enough for making this positive change possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Green Terra Homes created the bunkie and additional local businesses that helped with the project include <strong>Greystone Project Management Inc. (Project Lead), <\/strong>Axiom Audio, Duncan Ross Architect, Green Terra Homes, HLD Contracting, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, Muskoka Crane, Muskoka Lumber, Office Source, Sarjeant Co. Inc., Allan &amp; Margaret Skinner, Tasso Lake Heating, Titanium Transport, and Tulloch Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>The location in the Garden of Honour is right beside the hospital and a new entrance to the garden will be created to allow better access. Our sincere thanks to current honour garden donors Mary Sinclair, Alberta Beaman and Roger Beaman for their kind understanding during these changes. Site preparation for the Huntsville Hospital Foundation &#8216;bunkie&#8217; is scheduled for the week of <span data-term=\"goog_2146322797\">November 13<\/span>. It is estimated that the new digs will be ready for move-in in the early New Year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our goal is to inspire giving that supports healthcare for life, here,&#8221; concludes Craine. &#8220;The generosity of local partners inspires us and we encourage everyone at the hospital and in the community to let a visit to our new home inspire you too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Huntsville Hospital Foundation raises funds throughout the community to purchase technology and equipment that is not covered by tax dollars or the provincial ministry. The Foundation goal is to raise $3,000,000 annually through partnerships, community fundraising events and, primarily, through the generosity of individual donors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Don\u2019t miss out on Doppler!
