The explosion of geospatial technology since then has expanded that idea into a global event that demonstrates how far GIS extends into people&#8217;s lives, and a forum for users to showcase their unique GIS accomplishments.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>On November 15, the Town of Huntsville will join hundreds of organizations from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia in hosting gatherings that will serve to ignite the imagination of the future geospatial innovators who will move the planet forward using GIS.<\/p>\n<p>The Town of Huntsville, along with local professionals and Ryerson University Students, will be on hand to showcase how GIS technology is used to make a difference in our community. Join us for a series of special presentations on the power of technology in understanding the world around us:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tulloch Engineering<\/strong>, will provide a GIS field work presentation related to groundwater studies and hydrology as well as a storm sewer project they are currently completing for the Town of Huntsville.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryerson University Masters of Planning and Urban Development Department<\/strong> will demonstrate how they are using GIS technology and Town of Huntsville data to facilitate their <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/brendale-square-open-house-offers-glimpse-at-potential-for-area\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visioning and strategic planning study<\/a><\/span> for Brendale Square.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Plan Muskoka<\/strong>, a local planning consultant, will present on how the Town\u2019s detailed elevation data is used for planning applications and local development.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone is invited to this free community event and light snacks will be available.
