The night before Huntsville dropped a 7-3 game in Stayner against the Siskins.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>However, this one had a lot of promise.<\/p>\n<p>The Otters led the game until the mid way mark of the third period but three goals in six minutes by the Schomberg team turned a 4-2 Huntsville lead turned into a 5-4 loss.<\/p>\n<p>Cole Gilligan had given Huntsville a 2-0 lead. His second goal on the power play came early in the second period. Matt Priest and captain Nathan Delarosbil got the other Huntsville goals.<\/p>\n<p>Any hope of pulling the goaltender in the final minute of the game to try and get the tying goal by the Otters went out the window when Matt Smith and Chris Goodfellow took roughing and slashing penalties with 33 seconds to play. That infuriated some of their teammates and coaches Brent Tomlinson and Marc Gagnon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-38496\" src=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2017\/10\/Screen-Shot-2017-10-07-at-8.46.46-AM-290x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2017\/10\/Screen-Shot-2017-10-07-at-8.46.46-AM-290x300.png 290w, https:\/\/media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2017\/10\/Screen-Shot-2017-10-07-at-8.46.46-AM.png 363w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/>\u201cHistory repeats itself,\u201d fumed Tomlinson. \u201cWe are not a team that has the drive to finish the third period. We don\u2019t have the guts to put teams away. It\u2019s 100 per cent because of discipline. We have veteran guys who can not control or have discipline in the third periods and they cost us every game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coach Gagnon was also upset with the team\u2019s effort. \u201cTonight\u2019s result was because of discipline,\u201d he said, \u201c and it\u2019s the same players.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s time for a change,\u201d said Tomlinson. \u201cA player change is going to lead to a change in attitude and that is what this organization needs. Marc and I came into the organization understanding there was an older regime here and the older regime isn\u2019t getting it done. They are not leaders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"modern-quote full\"><p>We came out the best we have started any game. We had buy in, but then as the game went on we got selfish and we let our egos pick up and we paid the price for it in the third period. We will be making players changes by the end of next week.<\/p>\n<p><cite>Coach Tomlinson<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tomlinson would not say what those player changes would be, only that everyone would know by the end of next week.<\/p>\n<p>On the brighter side, Cole Gilligan was named the game&#8217;s first star after his two goal performance and Nathan Delarosbil was star number 3.<\/p>\n<p>Huntsville\u2019s next game is Sunday in Caledon against the Golden Hawks. Living the dream on the road is great for a while but having a home is better. Huntsville is home to me. I was a Town and District councillor for four terms, a Rotarian, and presently a member of the Town\u2019s Economic Development committee and Sports Hall of Fame board.
