The Board of Fairvern Nursing Home<\/a><\/span> is looking for directors as it moves through a redevelopment plan on donated lands near the hospital.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

\u201cWe think particularly right now it\u2019s an exciting time [to join the board],\u201d explained Fairvern Nursing Home Board Chair Rob Laver. \u201cWe have this piece of property up on the north end of town on Muskoka Road 3, we have a financial commitment from the District<\/a><\/span> to assist with the builds, we\u2019ve got an application in to the Ministry \u2013 so from our perspective, the boxes are all ticked and we\u2019re waiting for the Ministry to give us the go-ahead and begin the process, so that makes it a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The volunteer board is made up of 12 members, which hold monthly meetings. Members will also be part of specific committees and the overall time commitment in general terms runs about 10 hours a month.<\/p>\n

The ideal candidates would hopefully have some form of board experience and background in areas such as health care, finance or accounting, labour relations or legal knowledge. \u201cWe\u2019re not looking for all that in one person but those are the kinds of skill sets that we\u2019re keeping an eye on,\u201d noted Laver.<\/p>\n
